Ok, my combos…

Ok, I’ve been working real hard on getting my combos together, here are my rough draft…can you give me opinions on them?

Girls:

Beatrix Annora Inez

Rosemary Helen Virginia (Virginia for Erik’s mom)

Petronel Esmé Delfina (Delfina for my grandmother, Petronel kind of for me. My name ends in -nel too)

Pandora  Elizabeth Jean (Elizabeth for Erik’s great-grandmother, Jean for Erik’s grandmother)

and the wildcard one I know that no one likes: (but that’s ok :P )

Domino Valentina Maud (Valentina for my mom)

Boys:

Wynn Alexander Clint (Alexander for Erik, his father, his father, etc., and Clint for my older brother who passed away)

Percival Malcolm Linus

August  Victor Thomas (Victor for my father, Thomas for my father who passed away)

Cosmo Terry Eugene (Terry for Erik’s father, Eugene for Erik’s and Mine grandfather)

Thanks everyone!

Trying to nail down a top three…

It’s hard to do, if I have to let Erik have a say!

Here are some preliminary ideas:

Beatrix Tara Rosemary, Petronel Leona Jean, Domino Valentine Elizabeth

Beatrix Elizabeth Jean, Petronel Leona Valentine, and Rosemary Tara Domino

Erik wants Domino as a first, I want Rosemary…middle names are family names. Valentine/Valentina for my mother, Leona for my grandmother, Elizabeth and Jean for my grandmother-in-law. Other honoring names I could use, Virginia for my mother-in-law, Catharine for my favorite aunt, Anne for my grandmother Leona, Delfina for my other grandmother, Elva for the same grandmother-in-law that Elizabeth and Jean honor (Yeah she’s that cool), and Abigail/Gail for another grandmother of mine named Gail. (Also Erik said he loves Nola now…it means New Orleans Louisiana, his beloved hometown)

Also here are some random combos I got him to say weren’t terrible, anything stand out to you? Any flipping or switching? (some of these are guilty pleasure names…)

Mary Inez
Tullia Anne
Opal Delfina
Ottilie Esmé
Wilhelmina November
Sunny Louisa
Sunny Marigold
Adah Rosalie
Inez Edmé (Any better mn suggestions for Inez (EYE-nez)?
Frances Daffodil
Susannah Marigold
Willa Esmé
Bonnie Susannah
Maud Eliza
Beatrix Nola
Henrietta Ruby

And for giggles, here are some random boy combos I made, though our boy names are pretty set in stone…(Our top three are probably Wynn Alexander Clint, Cosmo Eugene Thomas, and Augustin/Percival Victor Malcolm.) Alexander is for Erik and his father, grandfather, etc. Clint is for my deceased brother, Eugene is my grandfather’s and Erik’s grandfather’s middle name, Thomas and Victor is for my deceased father.

These combos are not nearly as exciting to me as the girl ones…maybe because I used a couple guilty pleasures for those!

Malcolm Ivan
Percival Linus
Thomas Augustin
Oskar Darcy
Oliver Ezra
William Nigel
Simon Laurence
Augustin Richard
Ivan Edmund
Blair Richard
Felix Darcy
Darcy Edward
Simon Magnus
Wynn Edward
Blair Simon
Magnus Elliot
Blair Nigel
Barney Thomas
Hamish Ragnar

So what do you think? Any great/horrible ones? Thanks for stopping by!

My top three girl names…

I have three top girl names…I think. They are Beatrix, Rosemary, and Henrietta. Though Clementina, Josephine, and Esmé are close to the top.

I have loved Henrietta the longest of the three, I remember when I was four getting two baby dolls that I named Henrietta and Susannah. In my eyes, they were just perfection…and they still are!

Henrietta makes me feel happy when I say it.  It has the innocence of Pollyanna, with the daintiness of a little girl in a pinafore. When I daydream of the name, I imagine warm sunshine surrounded by lilacs.  Slightly old-fashioned, quaint, and familiar.  I imagine a little Henrietta with blond curls tied up in a big pink bow and little mary-janes.  I adore it’s nicknames, especially Henny, Hetty, Hattie, and Etta. I prefer Henrietta over Henry on a boy. I don’t have any firm combos for this, at one point I had Henrietta Cordelia Esmé, now I think I’m set on Henrietta Lilac Adèle.

Rosemary is name that has evolved over many years for me. Rose replaced Camryn as my top favorite name at around age 20-21, when I realized I was OUT of my mind for liking any of the names I liked at the time. I fell in love with Rose, like hardcore-I want-to-marry-it kind of love. I only liked Rose though. I felt it was complete enough and just perfect. I wanted to like Rosemary, but was still newly raw from throwing away my tryndee crap names, that I wasn’t ready to embrace the oldies.  Then one day, I realized I really liked Rosemary, and just over many years Rose slowly evolved to Rosemary as my favorite.  I still love Rose, but something about Rosemary just feels right.  This name is one I really feel like I would use. This name reminds me of a Victorian woman in a lacy antique gown-just all my favorite parts of antiquity. Simply breathtaking.  I had Rosemary Helen Anne as a combo.  Anne is my grandmother’s middle name. I adore Rosemary with the nickname Rosy, and something I find extremely appealing and adorable to call a daughter named Rosemary Helen, Rosy-Posy. Just perfect.

Beatrix is my newest love. It hit me from no where. I’ve heard this name a million times, but just once I really heard it, and realized how amazing it was. It might have surpassed all the other names to my number one spot. It’s the one I dream about, the one I’m just so infatuated with it. It’s got this spunky vibe that the other two don’t have, and at the same time seems even more old-fashioned and antiqued than Henrietta and Rosemary. It reminds me of little bunny rabbits in little blue coats stomping through Mr. ‘ garden. It just makes me swoon. The plus, this is the only of the three that Erik likes as well. I also absolutely adore Trixie. I would use Trixie more than just occasionally.  I’m still working on a complete combo, but was thinking Beatrix Valentina/Virginia/Leona/Delfina or Beatrix Leona Joy/Jean. Valentina is in honor of my mom Val, Virginia is Erik’s mother’s name, Leona was my grandmother’s first name, Delfina was my other grandmother, and Jean is after Erik’s grandmother Elva Jean.

So what do you think? Comments, suggestions, reviews? Thanks!

All my favorite names, or What are you on?!

My mother saw my name list, and seriously asked if I was on drugs, lol. My taste does run eccentric I know that. I know it’s not most people cups of tea, but I’m ok with that. I honestly don’t think any of my favorite names would be considered child abuse.

These are my favorite names right now, some are family names, some are guilty pleasures, or middle name only, and some would only be nicknames, but haven’t decided on the best first name for them first!

My girls list is a lot shorter, and not all I don’t think I’d actually use, like Mathilda, it’s very popular right now, though I love it, and I adore Tilly. Same with Felix, Harvey, Caroline, and maybe Elizabeth. I know Elizabeth is extremely popular, but I just love it so much, I might be willing to overlook it!
